Welcome to Workshop

Workshop

Workshop has been running since 2020 based in Worthing, West Sussex. We are a local organisation, which supports our local community.

Workshop came together with a vision to support, enable, listen and engage young people through one to one mentorship who may be at risk of exclusion from school or college. We are a growing network of male mentors of various age and diverse backgrounds who support and mentor young men (10-18 years).

Workshop is a space for growth

We believe individuals grow in confidence and motivation by doing things together. When people have experienced negative voices and experiences in their lives at a young age it can be difficult to engage positively with people around them.

Workshop mentors are supportive and empathetic, dependable and interested, actively listening to the lived experiences of our mentees.

Workshop provides a safe and supportive space for young men, who find school or college difficult, and in so doing gain personal and social skills to enrich their lives, develop their communication skills and relationships whilst working alongside others.

Belonging

Workshop may be for you? Do you want to feel you belong, increase your self-confidence then come and join in with others. We do know that schools try to include everyone, however some young people do not feel that this is an environment for them. This sometimes can lead to people being drawn into negative friendship circles or situations, which may not be right for them, and this can make things more difficult challenging and complicated.

Workshop can support young people by helping build a strong emotional foundation with which they can go onto new ventures and opportunities. Our Workshop mentors are trusted and reliable (all DBS) who are on hand to provide support and guidance as they engage with a young person in a chosen activity.
